MABEL started training at the age of five at the Instituto de la Danza in Cuba, where she mastered the Salsa, Mambo, Cha Cha, Rumba, Merengue, Samba, as well as Flamenco, Jazz, Belly dance, and Ballet. She won her first Cuban Salsa competition in 2000.
ORLANDO studied at the Superior Institute of Dance and Art in Cuba, and has been performing, teaching, choreographing, and competing since 1986. He specializes in Salsa, Merengue, Rumba, Cumbia, Cha Cha, Samba and Modern Dance, and has taken first place six times in competitions in Havana.
Since moving to Canada in 2001, the couple has been actively teaching and promoting dance in northern Ontario. In 2008, they opened Dance Obsessed Studio in downtown North Bay where they offer classes for adults, teens, and children, from beginner to advanced:
